Urban development
Civil engineering for greenfield, infill and brownfield development, from the feasibility study to the Statement of Compliance.
What Method delivers
From the feasibility study to the Statement of Compliance
Method takes a site from the first feasibility question to the certificate council issues at the end. The layout is tested against the planning permit before detailed design starts, the drainage strategy and the legal point of discharge are settled early, and the drawings are detailed for the contractor who builds from them. Council, the water authority and the service authorities are dealt with as part of the job, not after it.
- Site feasibility, due diligence and peer review
- Functional layout plans
- Greenfield and infill subdivision design
- Brownfield redevelopment
- Development approvals
- Bulk earthworks and grading
- Construction phase services and Statement of Compliance
Client questions
What clients ask first
What does a civil engineer do between the planning permit and the Statement of Compliance?
Everything the permit conditions call for before construction can commence. Method prepares the functional layout and the engineering drawings for roads, drainage, earthworks and services coordination, and gets them approved by the relevant authority.
How long does civil design take for a small subdivision?
For a subdivision of a few lots to a few dozen, detailed design usually takes four to eight weeks once the survey, the geotechnical report and the permit conditions are in hand. Council’s approval of the drawings adds its own time, commonly four to six weeks for each submission (depending on the authority’s workload), so the quickest path is a design that answers the standard drawings and the conditions the first time.
Can Method assist with authority engagement?
Yes. The referrals that sit with the civil design are handled as part of the job: the legal point of discharge, the water authority referral and the drainage approvals. For the sewer, water, electricity, gas and telecommunications designs, Method can coordinate the servicing consultants or work alongside the ones the client already has. The fee proposal says which, so the scope is clear from the start.
Got a subdivision condition or an RFI you are not sure about? Send it over. Method will tell you what the council is actually asking for and what it would take, no obligation.
