Who we are

Method Engineering is a civil, traffic and stormwater engineering practice working across Australia. Where the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles apply to us, we follow them. This policy explains what this website collects, what we do with it and how to contact us about it.

What the proposal form collects

When you request a fee proposal, the form asks for your name, company, email address and phone number, your role, the site address, the council, the project type, the stage the project is at, a needed-by date, any notes, and any files you choose to upload, such as a planning permit, permit conditions, a request for further information, plans or a survey. The form also records the page you came from and any campaign tags in the link you clicked, so we know which listing brought you here.

How we use it

We use what you send to prepare a fee proposal, to reply to you and, if you engage us, to carry out the work. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for marketing you did not ask for.

Where it goes

• Enquiries are emailed to our info@ address and kept in our mailbox.
• Uploaded files are stored privately in Cloudflare R2 only for long enough for Method to collect them, then deleted from the website automatically. Method keeps a copy of each enquiry and its files as part of its project records.
• Email is sent through Resend, our email processor.
• The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which tells people from automated software. Turnstile may set a cookie and processes your IP address to do so.
• The website is hosted on Cloudflare.

Analytics

The site can use Google Analytics 4 and the LinkedIn Insight Tag. They record pages viewed, the general location and device of the visitor, and events such as a proposal being submitted or a phone number being tapped. They set cookies to tell one visit from another. They only load after the page has loaded, and they are switched off when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. Use the switch below to turn analytics off on this device.

Overseas disclosure

Cloudflare, Google, LinkedIn and Resend may process data outside Australia, including in the United States. Their handling of data is governed by their own policies.

Security

Traffic to the site is encrypted. Uploaded files are not public and can only be opened through a signed link. Access to our mailbox and our Cloudflare account is limited to the people who need it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry emails while we assess the request. If you engage us, we keep the engagement records for the life of the engagement and for as long as our professional and insurance obligations require afterwards.

Access and correction

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing us. We respond promptly, usually within 30 days.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your information, email us first and we will look into it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the way the site works changes. The date at the top shows the last change.
